Ok, long story short (so to speak). Desmond, bartender, runaway Assassin and descendant of Altair, has been captured but Abstergo. Using a machine called the Animus, Dr. Vidic and his assistant, Lucy, trek through Desmond's genetic memory and follow Altair's adventure in the Holy Land. Well, after they found a clue to what they're looking for, SPOILER Lucy breaks Desmond out and they escape to an Assassin hideout. Now, using the Animus 2.0, they train Desmond for what's to come and try to find more answers to the Piece of Eden mystery! Shiny.
Ezio's turn!
Much better than the first one. Mission structure is more 'Ok, i just did this, so now i can do this, but on the way i can be a mailman! Or a muscle! Maybe indulge in a race or two.' you know, stuff like that. And there is optional assassination missions, which can differ interestingly, and this is refreshing. Don't get seen, don't get in trouble (poison helps), follow this guy here and kill them all, do it in the allotted time. I liked it, though some mission's can be aggravating.
Story missions are marked with a <!>, while optionals are marked otherwise. There's also Assassin tombs (and if u have dlc, Templar Lairs).
The combat is much more... in depth? It's good. Or at least, realistic. I oft found myself, in the first AC, running atop a building and throwing my persuers off, with the only resistance from Templars. Can't do that here. Well, you can, but only to archers and weaklings. But more people can resist your grab attacks. Given a few sword swings can push them off though.
This time around, you can fight with your hidden blade. You can assault them as if with any other blade, but a successful parry (if u can time it right) is an insta-kill.
Oh, and there is more water this time around! Being Venezia, you can't complete a mission, side or main, without spotting a canal. This can help with hiding, and killing! But some escort missions (don't worry, there's only a few) over rooftops will involve tightropes, and the Ai says "Hey, lets all go at once!", which leads to many friendly casualties. Sad face.
There's more cutscenes, smoother (i think that's right) graphics, and some damn spot-on facial expressions, which i like. and the Story is so.. what was the word they used, Philosophical? Yeah! Damn, it will make you think. They need to put a better disclaimer on that game.
9/10. The story elements really helped that game kick ass.
Oh, and, mini spoiler alert! Don't go any farther if you... well, havn't beaten it, i guess. But if u don't care, go right ahead.
The movie 2012 is pretty much what will happen if Desmond fails, according to the gods, and Lucy.
